摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable determination of a state of a liquid without causing cost increase in a liquid jet apparatus. SOLUTION: A color inkjet printer 100 is provided which includes a printing head 200 where piezoelectric elements 201 and nozzles 220 are prepared, and a residual vibration detecting part 400 which detects residual vibration of the ink after a driving signal is supplied to the piezoelectric element 201. The residual vibration detecting part 400 includes a comparator COMP1 which converts residual vibration to a pulse by comparison with a reference voltage VrefP, and a comparator COMP2 which converts residual vibration to a pulse by comparison with a reference voltage VrefN. The color inkjet printer 100 specifies, on the basis of the pulses, an attenuation time Td from when the driving signal is supplied to the piezoelectric element 201 till when an amplitude of the residual vibration waveform is attenuated to a predetermined amplitude, and determines a viscosity of the ink on the basis of the attenuation time Td.
