摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the change in temperature of a DNA specimen (reaction solution) follow the predetermined temperature pattern in the PCR method. SOLUTION: A temperature element 61 has a set of a p-type semiconductor 72P and an n-type semiconductor 72N arranged apart each other and a mounting part 81 to which a container of a DNA specimen is directly mounted, and is equipped with the followings: a metal well 71 joined to each of the p-type semiconductor 72P and the n-type semiconductor 72N; an electrode/heat radiation plate 73P, joined to the p-type semiconductor 72P, to which a voltage is impressed by a temperature control part 62; and an electrode/heat radiation plate 73N, joined to the n-type semiconductor 72N, to which a voltage is impressed by a temperature control part 62. When different voltages are impressed to the respective electrode/heat radiation plates 73P and 73N by the temperature control part 62 causing a potential difference between the p-type semiconductor 72P and the n-type semiconductor 72N, the metal well 71 spreads heat, while passing an electric current, from one side to another of the p-type semiconductor 72P and the n-type semiconductor 72N creating the Peltier effect.
