<p>A universal clamp for securing cables (21) of different diameters a first clamp part (1) which has a first bearing surface (5) and a second clamp part (10) which has a second bearing surface (15); said first and second bearing surfaces (5, 15) being adapted to slidingly engage when the clamp is assembled. The lowest part of the first clamp part (1) is formed by a support (3) which has a substantially semi-circular profile and is adapted to receive a cable or pipe (21) and cooperate with a curved profile (13) on the lower portion of the second clamp part (10). Further bearing surfaces (18, 24, 25) are provided on both clamp parts (1, 10). Each clamp part (1, 10) is also provided with an opening adapted to receive a bolt which fastens and secures the clamp. The first clamp part further comprises a head (2) and neck (27) portions adapted to engage the clamp with an opening on a standard channel. In use, the second clamp part can be slid into position to grip a cable supported on the lower portion so that different cable sizes can be accommodated.</p> |
