<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve quality of a projection image, by reducing color unevenness of illuminating light and suppressing luminance distribution unevenness of the projection image, when increasing intensity of illuminating light by using a plurality of light sources. <P>SOLUTION: Two light sources 21a and 21b, a triangular prism mirror 22 that synthesizes light beams emitted from the two light sources 21a and 21b, and a first dichroic mirror 41 that disperses the synthesized light beam are arranged in this order. A projection display device is configured such that luminous flux of the light beams synthesized by the triangular prism mirror 22 may be a major axis in a light synthesizing direction, and also the major axis direction of the luminous flux may be perpendicular to a light dispersion direction of the first dichroic mirror 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
