<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and a method for transmission processing of image data, suppressing the occurrence of an under-run error by measuring receiving speed of image data between an information terminal device and an image forming apparatus and performing transmission processing of the image data based on a result of the measurement. <P>SOLUTION: Data for measurement is transmitted from the information terminal device (S102). The image forming apparatus starts reception of the data for measurement (S103) and starts measurement of the receiving time (S104), and when the reception is completed, it calculates the receiving speed from the receiving time and an amount of the data for measurement(S106). Then, the amount of the image data in page units is transmitted from the information terminal device (S107). The image forming apparatus determines, based on the calculated receiving speed and the amount of the image data, whether or not the under-run error occurs (S108), and notifies the information terminal device of a result of the determination (S109 and S110). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
