PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod, which bends smoothly like drawing an arc when a fish bites the hook, which relaxes stress concentration and which makes it easy to create bamboo joints. SOLUTION: In the original rod 1, a rod tip side bulging part 2 located in the rod tip side and a rod base side bulging part 3 located in the rod base side are formed. The rod base side end surface of the rod tip side bulging part 2 and the rod tip side end surface of the rod base side bulging part 3 form slopes toward and approach each other. A ring-shaped recessed groove 4 which enters the approaching position to the rod core side is formed. The ring-shaped recessed groove 4 is formed along the slope b, which inclines to the vertical plane a which intersects perpendicularly with the rod axis X, around the peripheral surface of the bulging parts, and the bulging parts are formed of nonwoven fabric prepreg.
