PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control valve having a compact and inexpensive position detection structure of a control valve for detecting a current position thereof. SOLUTION: A slider 28 moves from a fully closed position of a spool 24 to an intermediate position thereof together with the spool 24 moving from the fully closed position to the fully opened position and does not follow a further movement of the spool 24, but the spool 24 moves relatively with respect to the slider 28. A first and second positions of the slider 28 respectively corresponding to the fully closed position and intermediate position of the spool 24 are detected by a proximity switch 34, so that a closed/opened state of a valve can be detected.
