PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce deterioration in compensation when an input signal is rapidly changed in a circuit for compensating for distortion generated in an amplifier. SOLUTION: A distortion compensation circuit has: an amplification unit for amplifying an input signal and outputting the amplified input signal as an output signal; a feedback unit for feeding back the output signal as a feedback signal; a predistortion unit for determining inverse distortion of the amplification unit on the basis of the input signal and the feedback signal, adding the inverse distortion to the input signal and inputting, to the amplification unit, the input signal to which the inverse distortion has been added; a band limit filter which can be inserted and removed on a line for transmitting the output signal and limits a frequency component of the output signal to a prescribed band while being inserted; and a comparison control unit in which, when a level of the feedback signal is varied more considerably than a prescribed width, the band limit filter is inserted onto the line.
