PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lever operation device capable of accurately detecting an operation position of a rotating knob in high resolution. SOLUTION: The rotating knob 3 attached to an outer periphery part of an operating lever 2 in free rotation operation has a lead tooth parts 3a on its inner periphery face, which gears with outer teeth 40a of a ring gear 40. Inner teeth 40b of the ring gear 40 gear with step-up gears 41 to 43, to which a permanent magnet 51 to 53 is firmly fixed respectively. A circuit board 36 is arranged in the operating lever 2 in its axis direction, and, since magnetic sensors 61 to 63 mounted on the circuit board 36 and the permanent magnets 51 to 53 are opposed in proximity to each other, operation positions of the rotating knob 3 can be detected with the magnetic sensors 61 to 63.
