PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting or quantifying BAFF in a specimen. SOLUTION: In a specimen, an antibody against a peptide having an amino acid sequence composed of AVQGPEETVT QDC (amino acid sequence expressed in single letter amino acid code), corresponding to the 134- to 146-positions in human BAFF (B cell activating factor belonging to the TNF family) protein, which is preferably a monoclonal antibody is added, and the BAFF combined with the antibody is measured.
