PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate the rise time of an output voltage Vout and make a start-up time constant even under input fluctuation when a pulse voltage is generated. SOLUTION: A pulse power supply unit includes a switching power supply circuit 12 that is driven in synchronization with a pulse signal from a pulse signal source 20, switches and outputs a supply voltage from a power source 11 through switching by pulse width control, smoothes it into direct-current voltage, and then outputs it to a load 13, monitor circuits 15, 16 that monitor the input/output voltage of the circuit 12, control circuits 14, 17 to 19, 21 that carry out the following processing: they determine the pulse width for switching from the relation of the monitored input/output voltage, drive the switching power supply circuit 12 with the pulse width at a first period t1 from a rising edge or a falling edge of the pulse signal, drive the switching power supply circuit 12 with the pulse width zeroed or minimized at a second period t2 following the first period, and then carry out switching control by pulse width control based on the output voltage.
