<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that useless toner is replenished when an operator does not properly perform the procedures of replacing a process cartridge and replenishing toner (or replacing a toner cartridge), in replacing the process cartridge and replenishing the toner (or replacing the toner cartridge), according to a report, in an image forming apparatus which has a replaceable process cartridge and reports the operator of the replacement period of the process cartridge and the replenishment period of the toner (or the replacement period of the toner cartridge). <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a usage detection means for detecting the usage of the process cartridge; a remaining amount detection means for detecting the remaining amount of developer; and a signal processing means which detects that the usage reaches a predetermined usage level and that the remaining amount reaches a predetermined remaining amount and outputs report information for displaying the contents of the detection. When the signal processing means detects both that the usage reaches the predetermined usage level and that the remaining amount reaches the predetermined remaining amount, the report information for the contents of the detection of the usage is outputted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
