The device has a root canal tool composed of an active part provided with a cutting blade, and a handle adapted on a head of a handpiece permitting rotary or reciprocating mechanized movement of the tool. The root canal tool consists of a cylindrical base (b) driven in rotation by a drive head around a reference axis (a). A flexible and filiform conical part (Z) is freely extended from the base, where an axis (d) of the conical part is shifted laterally and forwardly with respect to the reference axis of the base. Notches are arranged at corners of a truncated part. The truncated part is made of a nickel-titanium shape memory alloy or other shape memory alloy.
