<p>The method involves reading a data field of received messages or messages of network traffic and evaluating cryptographic data fields regarding its entropy rate or regarding entropy rate characterizing size. An alarm is released, if a predetermined minimum entropy rate or a threshold value for the entropy rate characterizing size is not reached. An independent claim is also included for a system for protecting a communication system, particularly a computer system, by which messages with other communication systems are exchanged, or a communications network work, particular a computer network, in which messages are exchanged.</p> |
