The method for producing products from foamed glass and other expanding materials, where the material initially presents as powder in its raw form, comprises introducing and/or guiding the powder onto a transportation unit (12) through a furnace (10), where the material is supplied in its raw form, so that it foams under temperature effect and develops a foamed glass, and cooling the material after the foaming process, so that the foamed structure existingly remains, where the furnace disposes over a heat source (30), which heats the air in the furnace and is an indirect heat source. An aerator (40) and an air channel (41) are arranged in the furnace, where the aerator moves the heated air (33) into the air channel and the air channel provides for the aerator. The heated air uniformly flows past to the material from the bottom, where the material foams out by heating. The furnace disposes in its interior over a steel liner, which delivers radiation heat during the execution of the process and provides for uniform temperature distribution in the interior of the furnace. Electrical heating elements and burners serve as heat source, where the flame of the burners presents itself in a burner tube consisting of stainless steel. The aerator sucks the air from the interior of the furnace, then moves the air to the heat source and then further moves the air into the air channel. The heated air intermittently flows below from each of the both sides of the transportation unit transverse to the movement direction of material. The material is heated at 800-930[deg] C during the foaming step. A part of the air flow is diverted and is led from the top over the material. Independent claims are included for: (1) a product made of foamed glass or other expanding material; and (2) a furnace for producing products from foamed glass and other expanding materials.
|
