<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a package for preserving freshness of an apple, which can prevent not only the flesh softening and the like of the apple but also the characteristic sticky surface phenomenon of the apple, and to provide a method for storing the apple. <P>SOLUTION: This apple package prepared by packaging an apple with a synthetic resin film is characterized in that the package has an oxygen transmission rate P of 50 to 200 cc/100 g×day×atm per 100 g of the apple. A packaging bag for preserving the freshness has micro pores, and the opening area of the bag is 2.9×10<SP>-4</SP>to 1.0×10<SP>-2</SP>mm<SP>2</SP>per 100 g of the apple.
