<p>The method involves fixing a product string (7) during a feed motion by a vacuum gripper (1) that is fed forward together with the string. A low pressure is produced within an interior space of a contact element of the gripper, where the pressure interferes into an intake region of the contact element on a fixed region of surface of the string. The low pressure is produced by a piston cylinder unit (2) whose piston limits inner space of the contact element. The piston unit is pneumatically or hydraulically operated, and the piston is driven by an electro motor or an electromagnet. An independent claim is also included for a slicing machine for slicing a thread-like food.</p> |
