A process for the preparation of 6-substituted 4,7-dihydro-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines involves condensation of equimolar amounts of 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole, paraformaldehyde and methylene-active carbonyl compound in solvent at boiling. Corresponding 1,3-diketones or diacetic acid esters of formula CHCOCHX are used as methylene-active compound, water is used as solvent, and condensation is carried out for 0.25-1.0 hours up to formation of end product which is separated by filtration. |
