716,298. Induction heating. FRUENGEL, F. June 12, 1952 [June 20, 1951], No. 14878/52. Class 39 (3) In a method of hardening or soldering small parts, such as watch shafts or pivots, the workpiece is heated by an induction coil fed by a high frequency generator, and the amount of electrical energy required for heating the workpiece is drawn from a storage condenser having been charged with such amount of energy. The condenser feeds the generator through a switch which may incorporate a relay through the energizing coil of which the discharge of an auxiliary condenser is passed, so that when the latter is discharged the switch is broken. Cooling may be effected by streams of hydrogen or argon &c.
|
