Class 39 (3) In a method of hardening or soldering small parts, such as watch shafts or pivots, the workpiece is heated by an induction coil fed by a high frequency generator, and the amount of electrical energy required for heating the workpiece is drawn from a storage condenser having been charged with such amount of energy. The condenser feeds the generator through a switch which may incorporate a relay through the energizing coil of which the discharge of an auxiliary condenser is passed, so that when the latter is discharged the switch is broken.
