Method of stabilizing a carboxylic peracid

Carboxylic peracids such as aliphatic peracids, and more particularly peracetic acid, are stabilized by incorporating dipicolinic acid therein. Suitably at least 5 parts per million and preferably 250-750 parts per million of dipicolinic acid are added to the peracid, which may for example be a 10-55 per cent aqueous solution of peracetic acid. Many examples are given.
