The rear view mirror (1) has an assembly of two parts forming a groove on a level of an interface of two parts, where the two parts are provided with a framework (5) and a shell (7). The groove is compartmentalized by two partitions (13). Two compartments (15) are aligned along a transverse direction with respect to an axis of a vehicle. An external surface of housing receives a mirror. The two partitions are arranged in the groove so as to have a space not greater than or equal to 10 mm and not greater than or equal to 8.5 mm. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle, comprising a rear view mirror.
