The device (28) has light sources (30, 32) i.e. LEDs, arranged on a support. A light guide (34) is designed to distribute luminous rays emitted by the light sources following a retro-lighting beam (F1). A partially translucent external optical part (36) is designed to be back lighted by the light guide so as to form cornice lighting. A diffusing film (38) is interposed between the light guide and the external optical part to control intensity and homogeneity of the retro-lighting beam.
