The method involves capturing an image from a part of an external surface of a microcircuit card (10). The image is processed to obtain the information representing the image. The information is stored in a microcircuit carried by the card. The surface of the card is marked by generating random mark variations to be processed during processing of the image such that the information representative of the image represents the part of the variations.
