PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver that avoids deterioration in desired signal selectivity and occurrence of reception sensitivity suppression when executing image removal by an adaptive filter. SOLUTION: A level detector 1A detects a signal level of a desired signal outputted from an adaptive filter 106. A level detector 1B detects a signal level of an image signal outputted from the adaptive filter 106. A comparator 2 compares the output value of the level detector 1A with the output value of the level detector 1B so as to output the difference value. When the difference value outputted from the comparator 2 is equal to or below a predetermined prescribed value, a local oscillator control unit 3 changes an oscillation frequency of a local oscillator OSC1 and that of a local oscillator OSC2.
