PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woven or knitted fabric for medical treatments, which has characteristics such as an excellent bacteria barrier property and blood barrier property, does not deteriorate durability, hand and drape, even when repeatedly subjected to washing-heat resistant sterilization treatments, can largely reduce stuffy feelings, and is excellent in dressing suitability. SOLUTION: The woven or knitted fabric for medical treatments, containing multiplied layer yarns each prepared by covering a core layer comprising polyester stable fibers with a sheath layer comprising cellulose fibers, as constituting yarns, and not having a coating layer or a laminate layer, is characterized by satisfying a gas permeation rate of≤15 cm<SP>3</SP>/cm<SP>2</SP>sec, a moisture permeation rage of≥300 g/cm<SP>2</SP>hr, a tensile strength of≥300 N and a tear strength of≥5 N, as physical properties, after subjected to 100 washing-heat resistant sterilization treatments.
