<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode for a lithium ion battery and its manufacturing method, having superb discharge capacity and with dispersion of the discharge capacity restrained. <P>SOLUTION: The cathode for a lithium ion battery is manufactured by coating a cathode mixture containing a cathode active material for a lithium ion battery having a layered structure expressed in a composition formula: Li<SB>x</SB>(Ni<SB>y</SB>M<SB>1-y</SB>)O<SB>z</SB>(in the formula, M is either Mn or Co, x is from 0.9 to 1.2, y is from 0.3 to 0.9 and z is from 1.8 to 2.4) on a surface of a collector, and with a surface roughness (R<SB>zjis</SB>) scanned and measured with a measuring length of 4 mm of 10 μm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
