<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, in a three-dimensional (3D) video display technology, when viewing a 3D video image, the quantity of light incident to right and left eyes may occasionally be decreased rather than the case of viewing a two-dimensional (2D) video image. <P>SOLUTION: A video display device is proposed which includes: a video content acquiring unit for acquiring video contents for the purpose of outputting onto a display; an output unit for outputting the acquired video contents onto the display; a conversion determination unit for determining whether the acquired video contents are converted from 2D video image to 3D video image or converted from 3D video image to 2D video image; and a first display luminance control unit for controlling a display luminance level to become higher in comparison with a 2D video display level while the 3D video image is continued after a determination result of the conversion determination unit indicates the conversion from 2D video image to 3D video image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
