<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus that implements multiple functions by registering a plurality of plug-ins in a platform and is powered off safely. <P>SOLUTION: A composite apparatus includes multiple plug-ins CMP32ba to CMP32bn registered in the platform PF in such a manner as to be canceled, and a power control body unit PFr for controlling the power to be supplied to devices that are enabled to perform their functions by the plug-ins CMP32ba to CMP32bn is mounted in the platform PF. Before the power is shut down, the power control body unit PFr transmits information to announce beforehand the interruption of power supply to each of the plug-ins CMP32ba to CMP32bn. In each of the plug-ins CMP32ba to CMP32bn, a power control common logic R mounted thereon performs a process of preparing for shutdown of the device, and outputs information on the results of the process to the power control body unit PFr.
