<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aperture synthesis technique for accurate detection of a target. <P>SOLUTION: A radar apparatus that detects a target by aperture synthesis of signals obtained from receiving antennas, in an array antenna having a plurality of antenna elements, each of which is used as at least one of transmitting antennas and receiving antennas includes an envelope detector unit that acquires an envelope component of a signal transmitted from a receiving antenna, in at least one combination of a plurality of combinations of transmitting antennas and receiving antennas whose spatial phases become equal to each other in the array antenna; a determination unit that determines an amount of compensation in the combination, based on the envelope component acquired by the envelope detector unit; and a compensator unit that compensates the phase of a signal transmitted from each of the receiving antennas before aperture synthesis by using the amount of compensation determined by the determination unit, or compensates for the phase of a signal radiated from the transmitting antenna in another combination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
