PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a newly constituted semiconductor device storing memory even in such condition that electric power is not supplied, and performing write-in operation without restricting its numbers of operation.

SOLUTION: The semiconductor device constituted in use of a wide gap semiconductor includes an electric potential-switching circuit having a function to selectively apply to a source line the electric potential equal to or different from that of a bit line. A consumption power is sufficiently reduced in the semiconductor device.
