<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly automatic settlement device and an automatic settlement system provided with the same. <P>SOLUTION: In a settlement device 3, a control unit 30 makes settlement for a commodity whose commodity information stored in a menu tag 5 attached to the commodity is read by an IC tag R/W unit 16 based on the commodity information by means of electronic money based on type information read from an identification tag 20 on a settlement card 4 by the IC tag R/W unit 16. Then, if a person desiring to make settlement for a commodity by means of a desired type of electronic money selects an identification tag 20 (settlement card 4) storing corresponding electronic money type information prior to settlement, then the type information stored in the identification tag 20 selected prior to settlement is read at the time of settlement, and thereby settlement by means of the desired type of electronic money is automatically made.
