PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device, and an image forming apparatus, which do not cause fixing failure and prevents deformation of a heating member. SOLUTION: The fixing device includes: an endless belt member which travels in a prescribed direction and heats and fuses a toner image, and has flexibility; a pressure member which is arranged to press the belt member on an outer circumference side of the belt member; a stationary member which is held stationary on an inner periphery side of the belt member, and pressed by the pressure member to abut on the pressure member through the belt member and to form a nip; and the heating member which is held stationary to be opposed to the inner periphery other than a nip forming part of the belt member and heats the belt member. The stationary member and the heating member are brought into stationary-contact with each other at their both ends in the width direction, respectively, and their both ends in the width direction are brought into stationary-contact with a frame of the fixing device. A portion except a portion brought into stationary-contact with the stationary member on the heating member is structured to relieve deflection of the stationary member in a pressurizing direction of the pressure member.
