Disclosed is a content distribution system wherein power is supplied from a plurality of power sources having different environmental loads, and contents are distributed to content playback apparatuses connected in the system using a communication circuit. The content distribution is performed to a content distribution request made by the content playback apparatuses, with service qualities which are determined such that the environmental loads due to power supplied from the power sources are suppressed to predetermined environmental loads.
