<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device, capable of improving color reproducibility in a low gradation, and increasing luminance in a high gradation. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display includes: a first substrate and a second substrate facing each other; a plurality of signal lines disposed on the first substrate; a first pixel electrode and a second pixel electrode connected to a plurality of signal lines and separated from each other; and a liquid crystal layer arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate and containing liquid crystal molecules. A voltage charged in the liquid crystal layer placed in the region occupied by a first sub-pixel electrode is lower than that charged in the liquid crystal layer placed in the region occupied by a second sub-pixel electrode. The region occupied by a part of the first sub-pixel electrode and the second sub-pixel electrode displays a first color, while the region occupied by a part of the rest of the first sub-pixel electrode displays a second color. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
