PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set an item of equipment to a requested position and to supervise holding of the item of the equipment at that position for a period suited to a long industrial cycle. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a communication lockout device of an item of equipment, including locking means (101) capable of maintaining the equipment (1) in a fixed position; a communication module (110) capable of transmitting data relating to the device; and a local power supply module (120), adapted to supply power to at least the communication module. The power supply module includes a charge monitoring unit (123), arranged for measuring the charge level of the local power supply module. The present invention also relates to a network for the supervision of a plurality of items of equipment, by using such a communicating device, as well as, to a corresponding supervision method.
