PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving device and a receiving method which can perform processing of separating a stream at a high speed and which can calculate a bit LLR. SOLUTION: A first metric calculating portion 20 calculates a metric of a first reception signal and a symbol replica candidate of a first transmission signal. A second metric calculating portion 22 calculates a metric of a signal which has canceled the symbol replica candidate of the first transmission signal from a second reception signal and a symbol replica candidate of a signal point closest to the signal, and calculates a sum metric of the calculation result and the calculation result of the first metric calculating portion 20. A third metric calculating portion 26 calculates a metric of a signal point closest to a signal which has canceled a symbol replica candidate of an inverted bit symbol from the second reception signal and the symbol replica candidate of the inverted bit symbol, and calculates a sum metric of the calculation result and the calculation result of the first metric calculating portion 20.
