PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which can make a photographing frame adjustment sufficiently even in a scene where the object tends to frame-out. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes a zoom unit which changes the zoom magnification of an object image, a zoom speed adjusting unit which adjusts the zoom magnification changing speed of the zoom unit, an imaging unit which generates image data by capturing the object image, a display unit having a display screen and outputting image data, a specification unit for specifying the object, and a control unit which controls the zoom speed adjusting unit to adjust the zoom magnification changing speed according to the position of a specified object on the display screen.
