PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce influence to a traffic flow on a target lane when changing a lane of its own vehicle. SOLUTION: The driving support apparatus 1 is configured to support driving at lane change of the own vehicle. An inter-vehicle communication unit 10 or vehicle sensor 11 obtains a traffic situation on the change target lane. A control ECU20, based on the obtained traffic situation, predicts influence which the lane change of the own vehicle gives to succeeding vehicles after the lane change, predicts influence which the influence given to succeeding vehicles by the own vehicle give to a traffic flow on the change target lane, and determines whether to allow the own vehicle to change lane or not, based on the predicted influence given to the traffic flow on the change target lane. Accordingly, determination of whether to allow the own vehicle to change lane or not is made, considering influence to the traffic flow on the change target lane, and influence to the traffic flow on the change target lane can be reduced when changing lane of the own vehicle.
