PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a false scalp smell composition for an adult and a child having a smell proximity to a more actual scalp smell, reproducing difference of smells of the scalps of an adult and a child and capable of certainly and easily performing evaluation of masking, suppression or deodorization effect of the scalp smell, and an evaluation method using it. SOLUTION: The false scalp smell composition includes component (A): heptanal, component (B): one kind or more of compound selected from the group consisting of 2-12C aliphatic acids and 6-10C aldehydes, and component (C): a 14-18C aliphatic acid, and in the composition, the mass ratio: (A)/((B)+(C)) is≥1/5,000 and <1/60.
