PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide error protection for a digital subscriber line (DSL). SOLUTION: A method for transmitting data includes a step of generating interleaved data that is interleaved. The method further includes a step of converting the interleaved data into a modulation signal, and a step of transmitting the modulation signal. The interleaved data is also stored into a buffer, for example. The method further includes a step of determining whether retransmission of the modulation signal is required or not, and a step of retransmitting the interleaved data based on a result of the determination.
