The printing apparatus has an inkjet head unit (510) that applies developer liquid in developing region on developer roll (520), where size and position of developing region correspond to the assigned charge image on charge image carrier (1). The developing region and charge image in developing zone (9) between charge image carriers and developer roll are covered and charge image is developed as toner image. An independent claim is included for method for printing color images on recording carrier.
