PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video microscope obtaining the same image in the case where a catoptric system is used together as in the case where only an imaging optical system is used. SOLUTION: An optical axis OA of the imaging optical system 20 configured with a plurality of lenses 21A to 21E is directed to a subject on a placing face from an upper oblique direction of the placing face. The catoptric system 30 configured with a first mirror 31 and a second mirror 32 is supported by a catoptric system supporting mechanism 40 at a lower end of the imaging optical system 20, while allowing the catoptric system 30 to rotate around the optical axis OA of the imaging optical system 20. At an upper and of the imaging optical system 20, an imaging element 50 such as a CCD is arranged. By rotating the imaging element 50 around the optical axis OA of the imaging optical system 20 according to a rotational direction and position of the first mirror 31, inclination of the image of the subject 2 generated by the rotation of the catoptric system 30 is reduced or resolved.
