PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress density abnormalities at the leading edge of an image caused by movement of excess toner particles, from a squeeze roller to a latent image carrier, which is caused when moving from a non-image part to an image part. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: the squeeze roller 13 rotating while being in contact with the latent image carrier 10 on which an image is developed by a developing part 30; and a control part that makes a rotational circumferential speed of the squeeze roller 13, when a position corresponding to a non-printing range of the latent image carrier 10 is at a position where the squeeze roller 13 is in contact with the latent image carrier 10, different from the rotational circumferential speed of the squeeze roller 13 when a position corresponding to a printing range of the latent image carrier 10 is at a position where the squeeze roller 13 is in contact with the latent image carrier 10.
