PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid abrasion due to decrease in lubrication near a lateral hole in the lower end of a sliding unit or near an underside starting point of a helical groove when a crankshaft and a bearing unit slide relative to each other. SOLUTION: A first groove 133 supplied with lubricating oil 108 and having almost no lead angle and a second groove 134 extending spirally at a predetermined lead angle from the first groove 133 are provided on the outer periphery of a crankshaft 116. During rotation of the crankshaft 116, the lubricating oil 108 flows in the first groove 133 along the circumferential direction of the crankshaft 116, so that even in a condition where a gas such as a foaming refrigerant mixes in the lubricating oil 108, such as during start, the lubricating oil 108 is likely to move in the circumferential direction and keeps a lubricated condition good near the lower end of a bearing unit 120, whereby a hermetic compressor with extremely little generation of abrasion and high reliability can be provided.
