<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct an aliasing signal without reducing the number of effective pixels in order to obtain an excellent image having simultaneity of accumulation periods of all individual unit pixels. <P>SOLUTION: In a CMOS image sensor 10 with a pixel configuration having a first and a second charge storage parts 33, 35, photodiodes 31 for all the pixels 30 are reset all together to start storage of signal charges, then at end of the storage time, the first and the second charge storage parts 33, 35 are reset. The signal charges stored in the photodiodes 31 are transmitted in batch to the first charge storage part 33. After the batch transmission of the signal charges to the first charge storage part 33, in sequential row read, a signal level for the second charge storage part 35 is read. Signal charges for the first charge storage part 33 are read to the second charge storage part 35, and a signal level corresponding to the electric charge of the second charge storage part 35 is read.
