<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in the configuration in which the opening of a corona charger is closed with a shutter when shifting to a low power consumption mode, a large amount of discharge product adhere to a photoreceptor if it takes long time to shift to the low power consumption mode, thereby it is not possible to sufficiently restrain image flow with the shutter, and conversely, if it takes short time to shift to the low power consumption mode, shutter is opened each time the return from the low power consumption mode is performed, thereby it takes longer time to the start of image formation to make a productivity decrease. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus, it is determined whether the shutter is opened or closed based on humidity (the amount of moisture) of the environment in which the image forming apparatus is placed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
