<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general-purpose magnesium alloy sheet material exhibiting cold formability equal to that of an aluminum alloy, and to provide a method of producing the general-purpose magnesium alloy sheet material. <P>SOLUTION: General-purpose magnesium alloy (Mg-Al-Zn-Mn based alloy) subjected to extrusion-molding beforehand is heated to a prescribed sample surface temperature (490 to 566°C), is then subjected to rolling, particularly, subjected to rolling performed at an angle different from the extrusion direction for one or more passes, and is subsequently annealed to produce an easily formable magnesium alloy sheet material. The sheet material produced by the method exhibits cold formability equal to that of aluminum alloy (≥8.0, preferably,≥8.8 by Erichsen value) and exhibits excellent plane anisotropy (a difference between 0.2% proof stress obtained under the conditions where the angle between the rolling direction and the stretching direction is 0°and 0.2% proof stress obtained under the conditions where the angle between the rolling direction and the stretching direction is 90°, is less than 30 MPa). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
