PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a skin external preparation having a skin whitening effect, particularly an excellent effect on inhibition and improvement of pigmentation after suntan by combining various active ingredients. SOLUTION: The skin external preparation includes ascorbic acid or a derivative thereof, hydroquinone or a derivative thereof, and an antiinflammatory agent. Furthermore, when the antiinflammatory agent is a combination of glycyrrhizic acid or a salt thereof andε-aminocaproic acid, a very effective preparation can be obtained.
