PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system capable of early detection of abnormality of a hydraulic operation mechanism. SOLUTION: An automatic monitoring device 3 monitors the hydraulic operation mechanism 2 opening/closing a breaker 1 by hydraulic pressure which is maintained by intermittently operating a hydraulic pump 25. The automatic monitoring device 3 includes: a monitoring means 31 monitoring an operating condition (the number of times of starting-up, or operating time), on the basis of an operation signal of the hydraulic pump 25; and a determination means 32 acquiring reference data on past operating conditions, sequentially updating the reference data, and determining whether the hydraulic operation mechanism tends to be abnormal according to a degree of difference between data on the last operating condition and the reference data, after the comparison therebetween.
