PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device which control the central temperature and water content in a reduced iron agglomerate to proper ranges. SOLUTION: Regarding the device 16 in which a reduced iron agglomerate exhausted as a reduced iron agglomerate obtained by reducing an iron oxide agglomerate in a reducing furnace is cooled, the relation between the widening width B in the conveying direction of a spray nozzle 1 and a nozzle pitch P in the conveying direction satisfies B≤P, the relation between the widening width B in the conveying direction of spray water and the widening width W in the width direction of a conveyer satisfies W≥2×B, and the relation between the widening width W in the conveyer width direction of the spray water and the conveyer width CW satisfies CW≤W.
